Redacted's life is pretty good. With a promising academic career, loving girlfriend, and strong community, the future looks bright. But a realization is looming on the horizon—one that could completely disrupt their paths going forward.
Change is scary, but she'll choose to bloom anyway.
Join our protagonist on a journey of self-acceptance as she embraces being a transgender woman, chooses a name, and comes out to the people she cares about. This earnest yet lighthearted story will make you laugh, cry, and feel optimistic about the future.
Spring in Her Step was made over the course of 3 weeks in February 2025 for Trans Joy Jam.

Amazing game, and while I cannot relate to everything yet, as I do not have a partner, and do not want to, as I am aroace, and I am not out to anyone in real life (However I am out to basically everybody I know online only, including everyone I met before I knew I was trans) but I really recognized and connected how I felt during the parts I can relate to. Very well written. This game kind of motivated me to really want to come out to people I know in real life too again, I have felt like this before and chickened out, but I'll see if I can do it this time I suppose. Thanks for making this, it was really enjoyable.
I'm really happy you were able to resonate with parts of it and that you found the game enjoyable! Coming out is no easy feat and just like our protagonist faced, it's not a one-and-done process. However, as much of a struggle as it can be and as tiring as it can get having to do it over and over again, it is often usually worth it. I can't say it goes perfectly for everyone and you should always prioritize your safety above all else but at the end of the day, if you feel able and safe to do so, it is often best to face your fears and live your truth. At the end of the day, you are the person who will be there for yourself through any trial or tribulation in life. Why not do your best to make your greatest ally happy? But either way, however you decide to proceed, just know that we wish you the best of luck and hope for you to find love (in this case, platonic), support, family, and community who will be there for you AS you. You can do this!

This game is so beautiful. I cried when Ellie and Jasmine were hugging each other. I feel like now that it can be possible for me to find someone loving and caring and understanding like that :)

God, who's cutting the onions, this is very relatable even though I'm the reverse. You captured the feeling perfectly, the finally figuring it out, the panic, the denial, and the reactions to finding someone who doesn't care about who other people think you are, but who you are at your happiest and healthiest. The characters were amazing, well done Gemmy.
